At the base of the mountain, along a forgotten goat trail, stands the ruin of an abandoned manor. Its weathered wooden facade is barely holding together, while one of the walls is entirely covered by a dense, thorny network of brambles. These plants, adorned with delicate white blossoms that were once the pride of their creator, are part of a lurking tendriculos: a semi-sentient plant creature that feeds on flesh and zealously guards the interior of the building.
The tendriculos was cultivated by the solitary alchemist who once lived there, dedicating his life to the study of magical botany. In his relentless pursuit to perfect his experiments, he created the tendriculos. However, the plant grew beyond his control, becoming predatory. When the alchemist attempted to destroy it, the tendriculos devoured him, making it the sole resident of the place ever since. Now, the tendriculos lurks on the house's wall, filling the air with a sweet fragrance designed to lure the unwary.

The manor is not entirely deserted. In the attic, accessible via a broken staircase entwined with roots, a raptoran courier hides among the remnants of rotting furniture and creeping vines. His left wing hangs at an unnatural angle, burned and broken by a lightning strike. This winged messenger was shot down during a storm, but the lightning was no accident—it was summoned by a mage in service to a mercenary organization aiming to destabilize the region.
Desperately seeking shelter, the raptoran landed in the manor through a hole in the roof, but his injury now prevents him from flying. What seemed like a safe refuge has turned into a deathtrap: the tendriculos blocks his only route of escape. The creature's vines snake their way into the attic, forcing the raptoran to stay frozen in fear, lest he provoke an attack. His situation is dire: his wound is infected, and he is weak from days without food or water.
If the PCs rescue him, the raptoran will reveal the importance of his mission. He carries a peace treaty meant to unite his people with a nearby human settlement. Without this document, tensions between the two communities could escalate into open war. His gratitude to the adventurers will be immense, offering them phrases in his native tongue, Tuilvilanuue, that guarantee hospitality among his kind.
In the partially collapsed basement lies the laboratory where the alchemist conducted his experiments. While many tools and scrolls are destroyed, the characters may find a few useful items, such as a vial of alchemical fertilizer capable of making any plant grow instantly, with unpredictable effects, or magical seeds that, when planted, can produce dangerous plants or healing berries, depending on the environment.
